Angry HELP! How to Remove a BIG BLACK MARK from my WHITE G8 GT???

So I walked out of work today with a sigh of relief to be leaving work for the weekend. I looked at my car as I approached it and admired it for it's a thing of beauty ... until I walked up to the driver side door. And there my heart sunk and my head hung low. There was a big, black ugly mark on my white G8 GT.

Does anyone know the best way to remove this? It hurts too much to keep seeing it!!

Thanks,
Rebecca

Thumbs up

I also have a white G8GT. It looks like a scuff mark from a shoe, my daughter left one of these marks climbing in and out of the car. A thin rag or cloth over your finger nail and a little pressure should remove the mark.

Bug and Tar remover can sometimes help. Some of the better brand waxes have cleaners that will also remove most of that if not all. But being as it may there still may be a slight blemish left behind. Good Luck

I would start by gentle rubbing your finger over it. Sometimes these are just transfers from shoe-soles and is basically a little rubber on the surface.

Start gentle and then get agressive if you need to. Start with a wax that has a cleaner in it. These are usually one stage waxes. Just about any good wax will have one. personally I prefer Mothers.

If that doesn't work, then I would go to a bug and tar remover and use a little more pressure.

If that doesn't work you could try a scratch remover product or even a clay bar.

Whatever you do make sure you always do it with some type of lubrication. If you are going to try and use a cloth and a finger nail make sure you spray on some a detailer such as Mothers Showtime or some type of quick detailer. Trying to remove something like that dry could result in further, more permenant scratches.

Freakin' Windex! I have taken paint transfer off of cars, with no damage to the original paint.

Try a sand blaster, or a grenade, either of those will definitely remove the mark. If you don't want to try either of those methods, or can't find a grenade at your local Army surplus store then the many relevant suggestions above my useless post will suffice.

you can use avon skin so soft. my wife used to sell avon. and the skin so soft will take off the tar base that the state uses to put down before they lay asphalt down. it will work as a degreaser very well. and it is cheap and goes a long way. i have been useing it on my leather seats and on my dash for a very long time better part of 20 if not longer years. it will not hurt your paint, just leave it a little oily.
