Default Kooks exhaust and Rotofab CAI

Hi all,

So I got my car back yesterday from the tuner. The mods were: Kooks full exhaust system (headers, and catback exhaust) and a RotoFab cold air induction. The baseline dyno run recorded 300.04 HP and 327.34 lbft. of torque. After everything was installed the results were: 332.01 HP and 351.89 lbft. of torque. They were pretty excited after the third and final dyno run. I did a little conversion and I'm seeing approx. 412 HP at the crank.

Now my G8 GT really feels a lot stronger and the sound is just awesome. Night and day difference from stock. Money well spent.

I was expecting the CAI to make the MAF sensor throw a code and it did. I'm going back to the tuner on the 12th to get an ECU upgrade. Should be problem solved. More HP and better gas mileage. And I think the governor and the 4000 RPM in neutral rev limiter will be gone as well?

I'll post the new results after the 12th. Love this car.

Default I'm guessing...

...it's the air/fuel ratio. The dyno printout showed a change in that area. He told me I need a tune to fix it. My guess would be too much air is causing it. When I gun it pretty hard the check engine diagram comes on in the center display and it beeps until I press the enter button on the left of the steering wheel.

No biggie really. I'm going back on the 12th to get it fixed.

As for the gains? I'm happy with them. Worth every penny.

I've noticed almost every time I get on the road somebody wants to race me.

Getting should up your HP numbers also !!!!

Consider maybe putting that beast on 93 octane (and getting the tune for it) and the numbers will be even more solid !!!!!

Default 93 Octane but...

...I don't think I've ever seen 93 Octane here in CO. I already put 91 Octane in.

The tune should unlock 10-20 more hp from what the guy is telling me. Pretty nice.

With the mods in my sig, I'm putting down 363WHP and 368WTQ in hota$$ San Antonio, TX on a dyno jet. What type of dyno where you on? Those numbers are low compared to other with the same mods. Most tend to run with 10 WHP and WTQ from mine.

Default From their website...

..."Dynojet 248/224". It's an AWD dyno.

My numbers were just from the CAI and the Kooks exhaust system. After he does the tune my numbers should be closer to yours I'd imagine.

Cool, is that on 91 octane or are you still running 87?

You have a code from the headers not the Rotofab. Having had the same combo way back when, the Roto wont set a code. Your code is P0420/430 for catalyst efficiency.

Default Thanks

Thanks for the info. I was assuming it was the CAI, but I'll keep this code for future reference. When the guy tuned it he fixed the problem.
