In the 12's
Went out to San Antonio raceway last night again and managed to put her in the 12's finally. Track was actually grabbing pretty damn good. Managed to beat the hell out of a friends WS6 (best of 13.9) another friends newer Mustang GT (best of 13.6), and in this one a little 1st gen Eclipse. I got one loss and that was to a Ram SRT-10 w/Intake, headers, exhaust, tune, and slicks that ran a 12.2 @ 117
All of my runs where damn near the same with a 2.03X 60' and all 12.8X @ 110.

How do you guys launch, and what do you turn off / leave on?
I went to HRP tonight and didn't do that well.
First run, I put it in sport mode and took stabilitrak off. I just went up to the line and floored it on green. 14.3 @ 100 and change. 2.55 60'.
Second run, sport and stabilitrak off......I power braked a tad -- probably just 1500rpm and got my 60' down to 2.2. But, I forgot what planet I was on (used to the vette) and touched the shifter -- jacked everything up on that run.

that one thing about honda's and other little cars. power to weight ratio. it just does not take as much money to get a light car to be fast as a heavy car. there is a little honda here where i live that is running low 13's and high 12's with bigger injectors and a greddy turbo kit. i believe somewhere in the 270 ftwhp range.

My stage 2 07 WRX (when I had it) only had turboback exhaust, intake, tune and ran mid to high 13s. Dyno-tuned at 236 awhp/ 273 awtq

Honda's arent bad cars, I would own a Honda. Now a NISSAN....I have one of those as well and after the motor/tranny and shifter were replaced in the first 20k miles (motor under recall) I will never buy another one of those damn things again!! Although I did consider a 370z before my G8 GT but figured I wanted a car that could still pull 13's and have enough room to roll in style with 4 of my good friends Love my G8 GT, cant wait to get home and take her for a spin with the headers, exhaust, CAI and tune im having put on this month. Let dad take her out for a few miles to make sure all the bugs are worked out and she should be ready to go when I get home for R&R Aug 26th. Gonna be a hell of a trip from DFW back home to East Texas and im sure I will be nothing but smiles the whole way home

well i really hate to say it. but there are still hondas out there running around with nearly 300 and 400.000 miles and getting shit done to them. and beating up on our new cars. i would not say it is still a honda. the japanese no what they are doing when it comes to building a engine. as me and my son do all kinds of engine swaps in the hondas, and my son had a stock 1.5 ltr 5 sp that me and him put a greddy turbo system on with bigger injectors. it did a little under 250 fwhp. all we needed to do was upgrade the axles to titanium axles and then go slicks. but we never got the chance as my son sold it to a race guy in dallas. so one thing i have found out about those little cars is that they can beat alot of modded american cars and still look and sound stock. it's still a honda! that is funny.

Great post 04goat, very well said. I chose G8 GT over civic si sedan because it's a way more comfortable car, but your dead on about the power to weight stuff. But rwd is more fun I think.
