Default First Mod?

Hey guys, Just wanted to know what you would do for your first mod given $500 budget on a new G8GT. Minus of course the tint. I am looking to do a little work on it but trying not to void the warranty if possible. Its got 380miles on it! Sport Red with the upgraded Premium/Sport package. Any info please! Also for the communities knowledge I have no experience with anything performance. Long time Jeep owner finally making enough dough to play with some fun and exciting performance vehicles. Thanks!

You could start with a Roto-fab air intake system!!!! Here is a pic of a package we did for a customer with a liquid red car. I don't yet have pics of this package on his car.

I agree, Go with the CAI, Most bang for the least work/cash. Plus it adds a nice sound at WOT.

Definately the CAI. Check out New Era Performance for a great product at a great price. Not to mention the owner of this shop actually owns a G8 GT!

I would actually suggest a dyno tune as opposed to a CAI. The tune does way more for overall performance in my experiance. The CAI might give you more HP, but the tune makes the car fast then the CAI would...

Thanks for all the input. While I was at the tint shop today getting prices a few guys from the performance parts store next door stopped by to check out the new ride and were pretty excited about getting to work on a new G8. They included some idea for me and talked about some good upgrades I'm going to have to look into. Thanks again!!

I would go with tune. If you can manage it, a CAI and tune will make a massive difference.

Do a search for Zim, he did a great mod with stock air intake system, which i copied as well. Sounds great and in my opinion is much better than the CAI sys selling for 300+ bucks. Intake air is colder, not like the roto system where the filter is getting hot engine air, and his sys sounds awesome too. My kid was in the car with me and said it sounded like the car was doing a burn-out all the way to 60mph.

Anyway, roto's does look better...but nobody is looking in your engine while you're driving....and you'll have an extra 300 bucks in your pocket.
