G8 HID install
i just installed HIDs. it looks sweet i will try and post pics tonight as i dont have my camera with me at work.. (its in my girl friends car.)
HOW to Install: easyest way
1: take off the 2 front tires (or one at a time if you dont have a rack.)
2: take off the plastic black wheel well sheets.(only has those crappy plastic 3:take off the back cover to the lights (twist off) drill a hole thru that in the middle( about an inch round for my rubber adapter for my kit).
4:drill a hole thru the bottom of the light housing for the other wires.
5:install lights
6: put back together.
plain and simple....

I dunno if a 5000k is worth all that work, i think u shouldve went 10000k or may be 12000k but 10 is definitly better
This is an old pic of my car, now i have it on my fog lights too, but it looks awesome at night

The higher you go on the Kelvin scale the lower the light output. I have 6500K on my '02 Envoy and they look good and signficantly increased visibility. I wouldn't recommend going any higher than that.

i know that they come from at as little as 3000k to over 16000k. but it also changes the color of the light that is put out. 5000k is a really white color with only a small hint of blue. 4300k is called crystal white and has approx 3100lm or lumens. and 8000k is dark blue and has 2900lm. 12000k is violet purple with 2000lm.
so it changes how much light is put out and the color. i like just a small hint of the blue with alot of lumens. so i went 5000k.

Just out of curiosity what type of bulbs did you take out? In other words what comes stock? The stock headlights appear to be much brighter than the stock lights on my previous Charger, but not as bright as the HID's on my wifes FX-35 which came stock.
I drive a lot at night, HID may be the answer. Do you care to mention the costs associated with the change? I know a few years ago it was like a $3000 option on a Porsche... I hope it is cheaper now.

I went to the Pontiac dealer to verify the 5200 on the fog light and they had no clue. The parts guy just stated that he had a GM part # and that was it. He told me I would have to take it out and look. Has anyone done this yet? I dont want to remove all the crap to get into it just to re-due it.

Autolumination uses the sylvania site for their sizes. I trust sylvania on what they say, they've never been wrong in the past for on other vehicles.
Also, just fyi, a 5200 model bulb by sylvania still fits the same a 5200 model bulb by phillips, generic, etc. Encase you were wondering.
