Is the G8 "metric" or "standard" or both ? I'm putting together a new toolbox for road

Should be metric. Almost all new GM's use metric fastners.

And most of the times, the metric tools work on the standard sizes if you have any problems. Been working on my '96 Impala almost exclusively with metric tools.

The motor itself is metric for sure, as I just pulled one apart from a Silverado for a heads/cam swap. Even the hose clamps are metric.
