Welcome thread: northeast region
Okay, I'll start it off so it's not so empty.
Welcome to the northeast region of G8GT.com
For now this area covers the states of PA, NJ, NY, VT, NH, ME, MA, CT, and RI.
This can be the starting point for info on events within the region, as well as a way for members to find each other once we all have G8's, or a variation thereof (such as the sport truck).

Hopefully by the summer we'll have the G8s in the bag and find somewhere good to meet...

Chief... from one of your other posts about the NE, you must be talking about my hometown... up off of I79 and I90?
I'm heading to a dealer tom'w afternoon here in the Burgh to test drive the GT. They only got one in so I figured before its gone I might as well get a feel for it. I talked with the sales guy today and the GXP should be here before winter so I'm waiting but the test drive will either make or break me.

Ice is off the bay, but still hanging out in the lake. I checked out a red 888 in Erie on Thursday. First impressions, it is not nearly as large on the outside as the dimensions on paper would make it seem. It looks trim and fast sitting still. I sat it in it and found teh inside to be more than adequate compared to my GP. The trunk is cavernous with a very wide low opening. I am willing to wait a couple months so I did not ask for a drive, but while I was there a family in an Altima did go out for a ride in it. It sounds almost too quiet from 20 feet away. Sound is part of the driving experience so if it isn't there that will be first mod.

Yeah man. I drove one this past weekend at #1 Cochran in Robinson (by airport). The sales guy let me have it for like an hour, I put almost 30 miles on it. Loved the exterior, that Orange is amazing in person but I still want the Phantom Black or Dark Grey. Gaps were all tight, the doors felt solid and closed solid, overall I was really impressed. Interior I loved...seats were extremely comfortable, gauges were all easily visible and all controls were easy to get too. Radio needs a NAV, but sounded fantastic. Other than that I was impressed, again. The drive was the best part but I will agree that the car is to quiet. An nice intake and exhaust should wake the beast inside and give it that V8 rumble. I had it at 120 on an entrance ramp for the highway...SWEETNESS! I was sold right there.
The car show in Pittsburgh is the 17th through the 20th and the GXP will be attending. I'm excited to see the new facia and wheels. I found a post on the web that GM states the GXP will be available in the fall. Which means late fall for us on the East Coast. Be on the look out for an all black one, murdered out as we call it, next summer in Erie. That will be me! Folks are still there so I pop up once in a while.

Picking up mine this week
Located what I was looking for yesterday. Took it for a fairly brief test drive and it was just amazing. Even at light throttle the pick-up was smooth and powerful. I can't wait to complete the financing, etc. and pick it up! I searched my area (Metrowest MA) for a Magnetic Gray Metallic with Premium, Sport, and Sunroof without much luck. I drove to one dealer that does not yet have their inventory on-line and, viola, it was sitting out front. I put a deposit on it and they took it out back. While I was getting "processed", at least a couple of other guys came in looking for a G8 GT. I can't wait to pick it up! I'll post some pics once I have. Nice to find this site!
Now, does anyone know someone that wants a 2000 Lincoln...?

Yep! We should get together
Mine is Ignition Orange GT. Got it on May 10th.
I'm in west central CT, near Waterbury.
I haven't yet seen another one on the road and
I have 2800 miles on it already.

I'm waiting to see how that turns out.
