Here's the VIS on 888. Looks like GM owns this car still as it's showing as a special event vehicle.

The car a loaded Red GT with no sunroof.

Edit: They might not still own the car because it already has an in-service date of 4-2-08. Strange that the date in the future.

In service date is an estimate based on 10 days expected transit an delivery from Homestead to servicing dealer for the winner.

No 888's have a sunroof from what I have been told from a GM rep.

Yeah I knew they were on constraint for a while. I noticed that #001 was a V6 G8 sold by Carl Black Pontiac. Too bad that one wasn't a GT.

You should be able to do a search on Pontiac.com.

Should is the key word there. I searched on their site and it showed only 25 G8s in the DFW area and none were GTs. I even searched the dealer I went to, to get one and it said they had none. Well, they had 4 GTs on the lot. 3 of which were the 888 editions. Doesn't seem to me that Pontiac is doing a great job of keeping their database up to date.

I'm maintaining a list of all 888's by features, color and state. Located here As the usernames getting filled in are from that site I haven't determined if I am going to post it in duplicate or triplicate, but you can open the pdf file, convert it back to excel, sort by engine and state and start your search (or send me a PM of your wants and where you are and I'll give you the dealer info.

There's a minor glitch in the locator, search function for base and GT is same, and default search return is max of 25 anyway.

Here is what to do (as I explained it on another site). Go into the locator and search for GT by your zip. If all it still returns is base, do not despair, simply copy the address and paste into Word or notepad. Find and replace the model code 2ER69 with 2EC69, and even change the return# from 25 to 50 (maximum system will recognize). Now copy the modified address and paste back into your browser bar, click to go to your new list of 25-50 GT's. Now that you are in the GT part of the system you can stay in it simply by changing search by zip or city, but new list will be the default max of 25. Remember that just because a car is listed in the locator does not mean that
1. it has arrived at the dealer
2. it is still at the dealer if arrived.

Have fun searching, and if you run into a snag just let me know as I can probably get you the info you need. Only thing I can't do (other than 1-888) is search by VIN or option, like a dealer can.

GREAT STUFF! Thanks for posting this info. I am sure this will help quite a few people. If I hadn't been at the dealer on the Saturday before looking at Enclaves I probably wouldn't have even gone in about the G8 since it didn't show the dealer had any.

There are 6 V6 888's within 200 miles of Dallas.

2 magnetic gray
1 white
1 black
2 red

All list for $29,675 and all show to be on the ground.

Jump to 400 miles out and 17 show up.

I really would have liked to win that.
If it's true that he dosen't want it, it's just too bad someone that could appreciate it didn't win it.

Default Orange G8 GT Numbered car

I went to my local Pontiac dealer in Elk Grove, Ca and they said that they have the ONLY Orange 888 car that was made. They obviously are not letting any test drives of that car. They have marked it up 5k and it was still there on Friday when I went to test drive a different G8 GT.

They're pulling your chain.
There were at least 8 G8 Sedans (V6) and 56 G8 GTs (V8) 888s made.
Which one is this one?
