LS3 proof
I found this on another site from a guy that works for GM. I thought you might like it. Please spread this to other sites that I might not be on.

Yes, the GXP gets a version of the LS3 from the 2008 Corvette. No word yet on what the actual numbers will be, whether the full 430 hp or something less. It's the only way to get the M6 transmission, has specific rear axle ratios per transmission, GXP only 19" wheels, and option of summer or all-season tires.

I don't mean to rain on the parade, however, I had someone who knows this site inside and out take a look at this post. While the presence of a 2009 G8 GXP model as listed above as 2EP69 seems accurate there are no engine options, or any other options for that matter, yet listed on the website.. I know CompG is not the originator of this information but I smell a photo shop here. Otherwise the info was only up for a short time and then deleted. Maybe a posting booboo.
Again...I hope it is true, I really do, but I call 'em like I see 'em.

I can assure you that is no photoshop because I'm the one that posted it on LS1tech straight from dealerworld. I blotted out the name of my dealership because I got in trouble with GM for leaking info on the CE WS6 back in 2001 and I wanted to avoid another phone call from Detroit.
That pic is from the GM dealer locator on GM Dealerworld. It's what we use to locate a vehicle on another dealer's lot and to even check what we have in inventory and inbound. Sometimes GM will post option codes and descriptions for upcoming models in here. That's what you're seeing in the pic. It is legit.
Here's one I just took of the ZR1 for 09 which is an option package on the Z06. That's why it shows the LS9 as an available engine for the Z06.

Axle options. I'm guessing the 3.70 will be mated to the manual.

I believe you. Just odd that that information is not visible here on the same site. Very odd.
Thanks for posting first hand. Also XM is now on the list, but still no nav.

Killer!!! I'm definitely waiting to the first model year to pass to see when the manual tranny will be offered. If it's with an engine upgrade then I'm even more interested!!!

If they wanted to find out who did this, it shouldn't be too hard to find out. All they would have to do is see who leaked info from a dealership on the WS6 from Dallas. But thanks for the info. Good to know.

6spd with 6.0?
I was looking at the rear end options above, and i see a 3.27 which is the standard rear end for the commodore with a 6spd Manual. I also saw in the new motortrend I got today, that the HSV Tuner with the LS7 has a 3.27 with the 6spd manual. Any word on a manual will be an option for 09?
