It's not out yet? Darn, this is "Test Drive Weekend" for us.

Can't wait to see how the car turns out. My wife and i always liked the M3, but after toying with one with my DD Mustang I realized that all my cars need V8s. And I bet the G8 will cost less than an M3+ a turbo kit

Pontiac's own website is WEAK! Basically worthless. I want to see some video of this car lighting up the tires and tearing through a track!

That's because you're measuring it up against an "enthusiast" website. The difference is, the enthusiast website wants to give so much information that you don't have to get out of your chair. The manufacturer wants you to get out of your chair and check it out.

Common people that buy cars don't even use the websites... And if they do, you don't want them to be able to make a final decision by using it. The final deciding is to be done at the dealership. THAT is the idea.

Default 08-09

its up too you really I had a 04 sti before my gt and the 08 gt has way more options than the subie, and the ride is better. If you want the few extra options that the 09 has then go for it. Some people like to wait and buy the second model year of a new car. In case there is any kinks to work out. I would look into whatever deals are being offered, I would think that you would be able to get a good deal on a 08 since the 09 are out.

Have you had any problems with your 08? I have read some of the post from others and some have had problems so how is yours?

So far so good. I have around 6K miles and everything's been great. I have one very minor problem with the passenger seat not going all the way back, but nothing else. If you troll this site, you'll hear about issues ranging from an inside buzz to complete front-suspension melt-down resulting in an accident.

From my standpoint this is a new, relatively high-performance car; there will be issues. Make a few thousand of anything, and not every one will be perfect.

I'm running Mobile 1 5-30 synthetic in mine with the K&N Gold HP1017 Filter. Also...No problems with my G8 other than some wind noise when the sunroof visor isn't closed, but mine was minor compared to the other G8 we tested against at the dealer.

I'm using Mobil 1 5-30. I'm planning on changing it approximately every 7500 and will use the oil-life indicator for guidance. I changed the initial break-in oil at 3K miles (which might have been a little late for some), but I did follow the engine break-in instructions especially for the first 600 miles. I figured 7500 miles would be fine since I'm running synthetic and the engine takes 9 quarts of oil.
